Make sure that there is at least 4mm of hair growth by the date of your appointment. Should your hair be extremely coarse, or you have been shaving, approx. 6mm is better for the most effective wax.
NB: You will get a good result from shorter hair but there will be some too short for the wax to grip so you will require more frequent visits.
Exfoliate and Moisturise regularly between sessions to encourage even hair growth and to reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs. For those prone to ingrown hairs a topical solution may be necessary to heal, prevent & maintain the area
Do Not use any moisturiser on the day of your waxing appointment
Waxing will remove spray tan residue on the skin & look uneven post treatment. Do not apply new tan until the following day (or at least 4-6hrs after to allow follicles to close)
Waxing will make the area sun sensitive so be cautious when out in the sun post waxing. A spf should be worn to avoid unwanted skin burning. Sensitive Skins may be affected by this for up to 7 days
Excessive sun exposure PRE WAX can cause skin sensitivity to the heat of the wax and skin may lift, wear an spf, especially for facial and bikini waxing and be mindful of staying out of the sun (the area to be waxed)
Some medications may contra-indicate waxing due to their effect on the skin (roaccutane for example) please inform your therapist if you regularly take any medications that may effect the skins ability to heal, make it sun sensitive or that may effect your over body’s health as to minimise the possibility of a negative skin reaction
